When your truck is on the shoulder, a directory is only worth something if the number rings, the address is right and the shop is still open for business. A wrong listing costs real time: a deadhead to a closed shop, a tow to the wrong side of town, an hour on hold with a number that was disconnected two years ago.
Trucking Service Solution lists more than 29,000 truck service businesses across all 50 states and Washington, DC. In October 2026 we went through the whole directory, listing by listing. This article explains what we fixed, how we keep it right, and what you can do to help other drivers.
What we cleaned up in October 2026
Most of our listings came from a large import in 2024. Imports are fast, but they bring problems with them: the same shop listed three times, ZIP codes that are not ZIP codes, “open 24 hours” on shops that close at 5 pm. Here is what the review changed.
Duplicate listings merged
We found 2,339 groups of listings that were the same business — same name, same phone number, same street. Each group is now one listing that keeps the best information from all copies: the real opening hours, the most complete address, the description, photos and every phone number. The old addresses of the copies forward to the one that stays, so saved links still work.
Opening hours corrected
Wrong hours are the most dangerous mistake in a truck service directory, because they send you to a locked gate. We corrected or filled in opening hours on 13,930 listings, using the businesses’ older records and public business data, and removed “24 hours” from shops that do not work around the clock. Where we do not know the hours, the listing shows no open or closed status at all — we would rather say nothing than guess.
Addresses and ZIP codes fixed
About 19,000 addresses were corrected: missing ZIP codes added, import numbers that looked like ZIP codes removed, states and cities put in the right order so maps and search engines read them correctly. We used free public address data for this, and we checked the map pins that were far away from their address.
Closed businesses marked
We checked 2,698 listings against public business data and found businesses that have closed for good. Their pages stay on the site, but with a clear “Permanently closed” notice, so nobody drives there by mistake — and they never show up when you filter for businesses that are open now.
How the directory stays accurate
A one-time clean-up is not enough. Businesses move, change owners, add a night shift or close. Two things keep the listings current between our reviews:
- Visitor reports. Every listing page has a button to report that a business has closed (or opened again). Our team reviews each report before the listing changes.
- Business owners. Any business can claim its listing for free and then update its hours, services and phone numbers itself. Shops that add themselves are checked before their listing goes live.
You can see this on every listing we have checked: under the opening hours it says when its information was last checked and how — updated by our team, compared with public business data, or updated by the business owner. After the October review, about 25,300 listings carry such a date.
How to get the most out of the directory on the road
- Use “Open now”. Search for the service you need and your city, ZIP code or “near me”, then switch on the “Open now” filter. It keeps only the businesses whose posted hours say they are open at this moment. Shops that work 24 hours are marked.
- Narrow it down. “Mobile Service” keeps only the businesses that come to your truck, and “Brand” keeps one brand — for example a Freightliner dealer, a Cummins shop, Thermo King reefer service or the next Love’s. See all brand pages.
- Plan along your route. Our state and interstate pages list the cities along I-5, I-10, I-40, I-80, I-95 and other interstates in driving order, with the number of truck services in each — useful for knowing where help is before you need it.
- Call before you drive. Almost every listing has a phone number, and some list more than one. A 30-second call confirms that the shop can take your truck and has a bay free.
- Tell us when something is wrong. If you find a closed shop or a wrong number, use the report button on the listing. It takes a few seconds and saves the next driver the trip.
Free for drivers, free for businesses to list
Searching the directory, opening listings and calling businesses is free. There is no account to create and no app to install — the site works in the browser of any phone. Truck service businesses get a free basic listing and can claim an existing one at no cost.
