Review of Silver Streak Equipment Services

Let me start by saying that Jeremy was pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff, particularly the woman I believe may be named Karen, was the complete opposite. Her attitude and lack of professionalism left a very negative impression.

I spoke with Jeremy the same week I planned to bring my truck in. Originally, I intended to drop it off on Saturday, October 24, 2026, but I made it back into town a day early on Friday, October 23. I tried calling to see if I could drop the truck off early, but no one answered.

Unfortunately, the lack of communication continued throughout my experience. Calls went unanswered, messages were not returned, and getting a simple status update required me to physically go to the shop. During the week I spoke with Jeremy, the office staff member I believe was named Karen was reportedly unavailable. She was also absent when I dropped off my truck and again when I stopped by on Monday, October 26, to get an update.

During that visit, I left under the impression that Jeremy would be forwarding the necessary information to my warranty company so the claim process could begin. However, that never happened.

On Tuesday, October 27, I called again after both my warranty company and the company I am leased to contacted me regarding the status of my truck. This time, the office staff member answered, and the conversation was immediately unpleasant. She had an extremely dismissive attitude and repeatedly attempted to talk over me while I was trying to explain the situation.

I calmly explained that I had been under the impression that Jeremy was handling the necessary paperwork for my warranty claim, but apparently that had not been done. She informed me that she handles the paperwork and claims but seemed unaware of what was happening because she had apparently been out of the office for an extended period.

I then explained that if the shop could not reasonably have my truck ready by Friday, I needed to know as soon as possible so I could take it somewhere else and get back to work. As an owner-operator, my truck is my livelihood. Every day it sits idle is another day I am potentially losing income. I was not demanding special treatment. I was simply asking for clear communication and a realistic timeline.

Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, she continued arguing and escalating the conversation. At that point, I ended the call and arranged an Uber to retrieve my truck.

Unfortunately, the experience did not improve when I arrived. The same employee approached the situation with an unprofessional attitude, picked up my keys, asked, “White Freightliner?” and, after I confirmed, handed them back to me in a manner that came across as dismissive and disrespectful.

What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that I was genuinely considering making Silver Streak Equipment Services my regular repair shop. Instead, the lack of communication, failure to follow through on the warranty claim process, and unprofessional treatment of a customer convinced me to take my business elsewhere.

My advice to other truck drivers and owner-operators is to carefully consider your options before leaving your equipment here. Your truck is a major investment and your source of income. You deserve a repair facility that communicates consistently, follows through on its commitments, and treats you with basic courtesy and respect.

Jeremy was pleasant, but unfortunately, that alone was not enough to overcome the rest of this experience. I expected better and will not be returning.
